Jezza Performs with the Texas State Wind Ensemble
Watch this video of Texas State University’s Wind Ensemble, directed by Dr. Caroline Beatty, put on a performance of Dr. Wayne Oquin’s Tower Ascending, the first wind ensemble piece that piqued Jezza’s interest in music composition. Our composer buddy can be seen on tenor saxophone.
Jezza Roddy (real name Jeremy Rodriguez) is a metal/rock orchestral video game composer located with his wife in her home prefecture in the Kansai area of Japan. His current project is Godgear Ragdrahod, a side-scroller mecha beat’em up being developed by SquireGrookTook. Under the guidance of Steven Melin (Aethermancer, Monster Sanctuary, Video Game Music Alliance) and Penka Kouneva (Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and more), the composer is continually developing his musicality. He placed runner-up in itch.io’s Reimagining VGM 1 composing jam with his emotive rescore of Xion’s Death Scene from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.
Being a graduate from Texas State University’s School of Music, Jezza also has performed live a countless number of times with the following ensembles and groups:
Texas State Salsa Del Rio Ensemble (Baritone Saxophone), Texas State Jazz Ensemble (Tenor Saxophone), Texas State Wind Ensemble (Tenor Saxophone), Jazz Combo (Alto Saxophone), Fear Control (Electric Rhythm Guitar and Backup Vocalist), Kyoto Municipal Kaiken High School’s Jazz Teacher’s Circle (Vocalist)
For those who have always wondered how to combine the skull-crushing blast beat and double bass patterns from metalcore with the gorgeous, soaring, colorful melodies of the orchestra, Jezza’s compositions are sure to give you a satisfying listening experience.

Of course, any other necessary details will be included in our conversation before we come to a final agreement.
The writing process is fairly simple but very interactive. Each track will begin with a short sketch that will be sent to you in order to verify musical direction. After that, a full rough mix will be created and sent by the agreed upon check-in date. Lastly, a final mix will be delivered with any adjustments if they are needed.

Pricing is generally based on a “per-minute” rate. However, if you are in need of multiple tracks or a full OST, package deals are also a valid option.
